- New reports now trigger notifications to all admins and moderators

Improved features

- The Inbox-icon and Notification-icon have switched position

Bug fixes
- Fixes the warning that Censoring is not enabled always showing up, despite it being enabled
- Fixes a bug with date fields being misaligned due to Bootstraps fix for Safari also influencing Edge, despite that Edge can work with the normal CSS
- When updating from Luna 1.4 Preview 3 and earlier, Sunrise will now function correctly without the need to remove files
- Fixes PHP warning in Inbox
- When no contact info is filled in, there is now a margin below the contact pane

- Fixes an issue in the installer

What you can expect from us in the following previews

- More setup settings for new forums, categories and menu items
- Bug fixes

Known issues
- When updating, Luna will always reset the favicon
- Moving threads is currently not possible
- The updater does not support RTL just yet
- Admins currently don't receive a notification for new reports
- The light grey accent still needs some work
- The category headings in the Backstage don't follow the accent color
- The parser adds empty paragraph tags to the top and bottom of comments

--

So, that's that. We're pushing this update out to nightly users, but also to people on the Preview. Beta testers will now see this update in the Backstage too. Onwards to Preview 7! Have a nice day!

This isn't a beta just yet. I'm expecting at least one more alpha (Preview 7) next week (probably towards the weekend). I haven't decided what follows after that, it could very well be either the 8th alpha or the 1st beta.

I do not understand. Preview what? You just need to add a category under "Add categories" and then add a new forum under "Add forum", there is nothing to preview.

Good Evening

Is there a setting where we can change the color/appearance default in our index / guest?

Backstage>settings>appearance. The colour you set in there will be the one that guests see.

I just got the bright idea to give reports an update in design and feature set (manage reported comments directly from the Reports UI) so the next Preview will once again contain some nice new features. 😄

Hi! Why

When No Login:

body {
    background-color: #e8e8e8;
}

When Login:

.enforce body {
    background-color: #136cab;
}

This is a mistake, or it must be so?

PS Thanks! It can be activated in the settings!
Settings / Appearance - Enforce the accent on the board.

Your personal settings are not a mistake. At least, I think they are not, that's up to you.

I'm playing with a couple different designs. But yes, an updated logo is being considered. This is one of them:

It's that time again.

Luna Emerald Preview 7 is now out

New features
- When Maintenance Mode is enabled, the Backstage now shows a warning on every page
- If you are subscribed to a forum, you'll now also get a new notification when a new thread is posted
- The Report UI in the Backstage has been completely redesigned
- Reports now also include the comment's content that is being reported
- You can now directly edit or remove a comment from the Report-page in the Backstage
- You can now add an admin note to a comment

Improved features
- The comment errors has been updated with a new design
- Subscription notifications are now translatable (for both forums and threads)
- The notification fly-out has an updated design
- Some emoji's have been updated to better fit their code
- The light grey accent got multiple improvements for both the Backstage and Mainstage
- You can now set all settings related to menu items when adding a new item instead of just name and URL

Other changes
- Luna now uses emoji's by default instead of the emoticon images
- Soft delete is now called "Hide" globally
- The footer no longer performs 2 queries twice
- The front end no longer loads Javascript when not needed

Bug fixes
- Emojis now work again
- Hidden threads are now also hidden in search results
- Admins now also get notifications for new reports
- Fixes a fatal error whenever backstage_message() was called
- Title cards and tab content now also follow your accent color in the Backstage
- The beige accent in the Backstage now works properly
- Moving threads is possible again
- Profiles are no longer accessible without permission
- Fixes a number of php errors

Known issues
- When updating, Luna will always reset the favicon
- The light grey accent makes menu items white on over in the Backstage
- In night mode, there are issues with the query table
- In night mode, code boxes are still white
- The CSS required for some BBCodes to work is missing
- The help about emoji's isn't aligned correctly

--

We're almost at the finish for feature development. The next pre-release will be Preview 8, but we'll release that update as beta 1. Preview 8 will be the last update with major changes, beyond that, it is fixing bugs and polishing everything that wasn't polished before. So if you have any more request, now would be the time to typ them down and tell me, otherwise you'll have to wait until Luna 2.1.

One request - apparently when there's a subforum, if you go into the main forum none of the subforums show as having a new comment when there is one. So like, with Sunrise, a forum name as [new] written after the name when there's a new comment on a thread. But subforums don't do this, so if you're in a forum you just see a list of subforums without knowing whether one of them has a new comment/thread without looking in each of them.

How's everything else with Sunrise going by the way? I last checked out Preview 4 so don't know whether anything else has happened with it, like with the comment view.

I'll look into the sub forum behavior.

For Sunrise, we've applied a number of fixes and improvements since Preview 4 but no major visual changes have been added. I'm not planning to use a different design for the thread view in Sunrise than is used by Fifteen.

Aw no way. A new thread view would have made Sunrise almost perfect.

Then how would you have imagened it? The space is just to small to make it really usable and mobile devices would need a vertical based UI anyway.

Similar to how it is in 1.3. Or can that not be achieved now that it's a child of Fifteen? It has a vertical based UI on mobile that looks different to Fifteens, and desktop view looks more classic forum.

It can be achieved, problem is that horizontal space is just to small due to the sidebar also being there, something that's not the case in previous versions.

Does the sidebar need to be there, or can that not be excluded for thread view? If it can't, then it's understandable as it'd look odd.

The problem is that it isn't consistent, something I've been spending much time on with the 2.0 release.

Maybe I could throw in an idea. There could be thread information in the sidebar for thread views, for example:

  • Users who posted
  • Total number of posts
  • etc

This would help to fill up the empty space on the left, I feel.

Yes, but that isn't the problem. The problem is that without the sidebar, there is no consistency, with the sidebar, there isn't enough space. Thanks for your input, though.

Anyway, the Sunrise thread view will stay as it is for the 2.0 update. I'll revise the theme for the Fallow update this summer.

Luna 2.0-beta.2
I tested in four browsers.
In the three browsers, you need to add it:

html {
    overflow-y: scroll;
}

Only browser Edge displays correctly.
But we claim to support all browsers.

I do not claim to support any browser and neither does including that line fix anything.
